Approach
Built a desktop app using faster-whisper for local transcription with zero cloud calls. Press F8 to start/stop dictation — transcribed text auto-pastes into any application. Supports 13 languages plus auto-detect. Packaged with PyInstaller for simple Windows installation. MIT licensed.
Outcome
Stable, released with installer. Near-human accuracy for Brazilian Portuguese. Complete privacy — all processing happens locally. Enables professionals to dictate documents, emails, and code hands-free without internet dependency.
